"Theory of your Life” Ian North
|

|
This, the second album from the Canadian born singer and songwriter, contains 11 oringal songs. All performed by North on vocals and guitar, and aided and abetted by a number of supporting musicians. The opening track, Skates, reminded me of another writer I like, Slaid Cleaves, and contains some nicely understated guitar from Eric Newby. I also like the narrative of The Ballad of Stephen Reid and the following Theory of my Life which has a lovely walking blues feel and some nice touches on guitar from North. Other tracks worth checking out are You Made me Blue (some great harmonies from Jennifer Claveau) and Leaving Buffalo
