“Traditional and Contemporary Music From Italy” Various Artists

This compilation comprises some 13 tracks from artists all over Italy. The regions covered include Sicily, Piedmont, Umbria, Sardinia and Campania to name but a few.

The opening track Isettande, performed by Tancaruja is beautifully recorded and produced. In fact the whole album is well put together and is a taster, not only for the regions originating the music, but also the artists themselves.

Other tracks worthy of note are S'Arrossada by Agricantus, the instrumental Della Casa dei Venti by Asteriskos, Voglio Una Casa by Lucilla Galeazzi and Vioire / Ad Oriente by La Ciapa Rusa. Information about the performers and songs is included. All in all a worthwhile investment.
