"Feet Don't Fail Me Now” Boldwood

I was handed this CD at the launch event and rather hoped to play it in the car on the way home. Unfortunately it simply would not load. I had better luck with the top-loading machine at home. Boldwood are an excellent band consisting of Becky Price on piano accordion and Tim Perkins, Kate Moran, Richard Heacock and Daniel Wolverson on assorted strings. The CD is a collection of dance tunes from various sources including previously unpublished manuscripts from the VWML. The use of an accordion means that some of the arrangements lack a little punch but this is compensated for by some lively work both on accordion and fiddles. With tunes ranging from Hunsdon House to Three Sea Captains this has something for everybody (unless you want to listen while driving a Nissan that is). Unusually this is one that I would recommend both for general listening and for dance club use. Webmaster's Note: The catalogue number printed on the CD insert is HOBCD1006 which is not the same as that quoted on the Hobgoblin website. We have followed Hobgoblin's website in this review.
